Aesthetic cosmetic breast surgery makes a lot of women happy every year. There's no denying that. But do you know in most cases it's not necessary.

The two main categories are augmentation and mastopexy. Augmentation is simply a fancy way to say make me bigger and better. Mastopexy means gravity has taken its toll on your breasts and you want to raise and reshape them to look more like you used to be.

If size is what you're after, then you'll have to choose between saline and silicone implants. If you're seeking a lift to get rid of the sagging and drooping, the process involves reducing the areola area, repositioning it, snipping excess skin and fat, and then reshaping the breasts to look their best.

Things not mentioned much

The flip side of successful aesthetic cosmetic surgery is a whole host of problems that need to be considered. The simplest ones start with anesthesia reactions, excessive bleeding during and after the operation, and infections. Depending on the severity of the situation, you may need to stop the procedure or need another one to deal with the issue.

The next level of concern begins with knowing that at least twenty-percent of implant surgeries need additional surgery to correct a problem. How many of them thought they would be part of that group? Something to consider.

Finally there are the scare tactics. Yes, I'm hoping to freak you out or at least stun you. After cosmetic breast surgery, the risk of suicide triples. Just as surprising, drug and alcohol related deaths also tripled. As stunning as this study seems, it's something else to think about.

A positive note
