Is Bountiful Breast safe for use for people who have overactive thyroid also since has kelp in it and, if not have you considered making it without the kelp?
Thank you very much for your response.
Bountiful Breast contains a micro amount of kelp. You have to have some iodine in your body otherwise you can develop health problems. We do have a product that is free of kelp and has no pituitary, it is our first product. We found people were deficient in iodine and when we added iodine they got better results. There is a difference between hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s, so we can not answer your question without knowing what you are referring to exactly? We’ve seen the answer is on a case by case basis, based on someone’s blood, urine tests and medical history.
Iodine deficiency is now accepted as the most common cause of preventable brain damage in the world. The spectrum of iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) includes mental retardation, hypothyroidism, goiter, breast cancer, and varying degrees of other growth and developmental abnormalities. WHO estimated that over 30% of the world’s population (2 billion people) has insufficient iodine intake as measured by urinary iodine excretion below 100 micrograms (mcg)/liter: urinary iodine is an indicator of iodine status. An estimated 31.5% of school-age children (6-12 years old) worldwide have insufficient iodine intake. Major international efforts have produced dramatic improvements in the correction of iodine deficiency in the 1990s, mainly through the use of iodized salt in iodine-deficient countries. Today, 70% of households in the world use iodized salt. For more information on the international effort to eradicate iodine deficiency, visit the Web sites of the International Council for the Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (ICCIDD) or the WHO. Bromide has replaced iodine in our bread supplies and bromide is toxic like chlorine. Since iodine was removed and replaced with bromide, breast cancer rates have sky rocketed because bromide displaces iodine on the iodine receptors in the breasts and thyroid and other parts of the body. People also use fluoridated toothpaste and chlorinated water which all displace iodine because these are all in the halide family. The breasts and thyroid have the most need for iodine, it is no wonder we have a hypo thyroidism and breast cancer epidemic.
Our soils are iodine deficient now because of over farming to keep up with the worldwide demand for food. Many of our customers are actually using 12 mg and higher doses of additional iodine and we sell iodine tablets, along with giving up fluoridated toothpaste and using shower filters to remove chlorine. You can read more about iodine at http://www.optimox.com and http://www.drbrownstein.com
We do not know what type of hypothyroidism you have, but most of the US population is iodine deficient to some degree. There is a urine test to see if your iodine levels are too low. The jury is out on how much iodine someone with Hashimoto’s should get. Once you become iodine deficient your body has a hard time removing toxic heavy metals and Candida. Most people have heavy metal poisoning but this is another subject.
