All women need to be concerned with the possibility of getting breast cancer. I think the best thing we can all do is work to prevent breast cancer by addressing the common known causes and working to mitigate them. The following suggestions are all the things I personally do to prevent breast cancer and stay healthy. It seems staying healthy is now a full time job, the more I learn the more I feel compelled to add to my regimen.
Known risk factors for breast cancer, including genetics, family history, and prolonged exposure to bad estrogen and xenoestrogens account for 30% of diagnosed breast cancer cases. The rest of the factors are environmental and lifestyle choices that we individually have the power to mitigate and change.
If you can reduce the negative effects of chronic stress, inflammation, heavy metals, pesticides, halides, “bad estrogen” etc. and optimize your immune function you can in minimize your chances of developing cancer.
My personal list of action items are:
- Get an Estronex test from Metametrix, this will show if you are making good or bad estrogen. If you are making the “bad” estrogen that causes cancer you can take a supplement called DIM that will make your body produce the “good” estrogen that protects you against cancer and heart disease. You will need to find a doctor who has a Metametrix account to get this test ordered. The good news is it is simple test and only involves checking your urine.
- Only wear a bra when you are working during the day, research shows that women who wear bras for too many hours and sleep in their bras have a higher rate of breast cancer, you can read about this research in the book “Dressed to Kill.”
- Start a regular exercise routine, exercising four hours per week can reduce your risk of breast cancer by 37%.
- Get an annual thermography, this can detect breast cancer when the cells are only precancerous and up to seven to ten years before breast cancer develops. You can find out about this at www.breastcancercured.com Mammograms are still using radiation to x-ray your breasts. Radiation causes cancer, and breasts and thyroid are the most radiosensitive area of the body.
- Eat organic food as much as possible, including meat, not just vegetables. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, if your produce is not organic wash it thoroughly and scrub it with a wash cloth. Meat contains antibiotics and hormones, cows are also fed chloramphenicol on the way to the slaughter house and this residue left in the beef can destroy the bone marrow of some people causing them to need blood transfusions. Do you want your kids eating that? I shop at Whole Foods, New Frontiers and Wild Oats. Give up eating pork, pork gives you the blood pathology of a cancer patient for 72 hours. Pigs do not perspire, it appears that the toxins in their bodies get trapped and this results in pork being toxin. Apparently there is a reason the bible says, “do not eat pork.”
- Only use real butter, margarine contains nickel gas and is hydrogenated, your liver can’t break hydrogenated oils down and margarine also contributes to more heavy metal poisoning.
- Use natural deodorant and toothpaste, I use Jason Naturals.
- Use Stevia to sweeten your drinks, cereal, yogurt etc. You can buy flavored Stevia drops at the health food stores I mentioned above. Sugar causes inflammation throughout the body and permanent damage called Glycation. Sugar also feeds cancer and yeast and causes Metabolic Syndrome X and Diabetes.
- Only cook using a stove, or grill, no microwave ovens! If you want to know why, try the following experiment: take microwaved water and let it cool. Then water one plant with microwaved water every day and another with regular tap water. The plant watered with microwaved water will die. The energetic spin or prana on the water and food that was microwaved is the opposite of living prana, chi or the energetic spin in normal food and water.
- Pray over your food and ask that it be made exactly perfect for what your body needs.
- Drink clean water, and filter all chlorine and fluoride out. This is a subject for another blog article.
- Wear good bras that are not too tight and avoid under wires, cotton bras are better than synthetic bras.
- Get your hair tested for heavy metal poisoning. Metametrix also provides good hair testing; find a practitioner who can run this test for you. http://www.metamtrix.com
- Join the Life Extension Foundation www.lef.org, you need to be proactive in taking care of your health. If you don’t have your health you have nothing and you can’t pay someone else to care about your health more than you should. Working now through diet, nutrition, sophisticated medical tests and detoxing can go a long way in preventing disease later in life.
- Find a ND or NMD that you like and can work with to help you with your health plan.
Read books and magazines to stay up to date on the latest research to stay healthy.
