Implant surgery is a common procedure within the U.S. But did you know, breast implant surgery is not the only method to get the bustline you’re picturing?

Silicone

There is a lot of controversy surrounding silicone breast implants. Women began choosing them over saline because they felt more natural to the touch and provided nicer contours. But in the past few years, many silicone gel implants have been associated with connective tissue disorders (CTD) and other illnesses.

Reported problems include: hardening in area surrounding the implant, rupture, pain, and loss of sensation in the nipple. As a result, the FDA restricted the use of silicone gel breast implants during 1992.

Mastopexy corrects sagging breasts, but it’s not your only option

Mastopexy is the technical term for breast lift surgery. The process firms and lifts a sagging or drooping bustline; this condition is called ptosis.
